We have here a sequencer that is more tuned to working with samples than it is with midi arrangements. Yes it does feature MIDI integration and the use of VST soft synths; in my mind it still leans heavily on audio manipulation. I prefer to use it as a sketch pad for new ideas. A few hours with this program often helps me to flesh out an idea which I will than translate into a deeper more refined application such as Cubase 5.

There are a modest selection of included effects with variable attributes, the ease of tweaking these effects makes for a very quick process and the layout of arrangements.

As a full track producing software, I personally would not recommend this suite as it lacks some of the final subtleties that a other packages such as Cubase and Magix Sequoia offer. The term DAW (digital audio workstation) does not really apply to Acid Pro because of the less complex nature of Acid Pro.
