When it comes to decks there are those who will absolutley not part or exchange their beloved Technics 1200's or 1210's.

As a previous owner for over 7 years of Technics I would at one point bee inclined to agree and support that line of thinking. Sometimes in life we have to step outside the comfort zone and make decisions we would be unlikely to undertake as part of our character.

The TT500 in my honest opinion out performs the Technics 1200 MK II and III by a sizeable margin. Personally I don't give a rats behind about gimicks; I simply want to have good control and feedback from the equipment I use to mix records, making the crowd jump up and punch the air.

The Direct Drive motor in this deck is more powerful than the Technics 1200, the disk startup and brake times can be altered from slow winds to virtually instant. The pitch lock is entirely accurate to within something like +-0.01%.

Even with a standard headshell and stylus the Numark can competently cope with the most serious scratch fetish DJ.

The tone is replaceable from the standard S curve to the straight battle scratch shorter version, turning the deck 90 degrees anticlockwise into battle mode is advisable.

I still admire the technics deck, however this Numark TT500 punches through with more tuned capability for about £100 less. Do you want to be a true craftsman and let your skills blaze through or do you think just relying on a brand is going to put you first?
