MIDI controllers for DJ are an essential component to go alongside DJ performance software. Many of you will agree that whilst DJ software can offer a host of features and FX these can be a pain to initiate from the keyboard and mouse of a laptop or desktop computer.

Prior to owning a Numark DMC2, I operated a PCDJ DAC3 control interface. I successfully made used of this unit for over 2 years. Since owning the DMC2 I have learned to map extra functions by editing and customising the action control script. Now I can activate multiple FX and sampler functions at the press of a few buttons on the panel of the controller.

Although there are automatic beat matching facilities with the software and DMC2, I feel this falls short of the experience and human groove quality that is offered by simply using your ears. This controller is ranged at a good price and will offer the serious digital DJ a reliable and affordable platform to perform his set.
