As nearfield monitors these have proven to be well worth their modest outlay. My first set I bought in 2004 and have gone on to replace them with a futher 2 more pairs. I really appreciate their dynamic range and find that there is a close to flat response, which is exactly what you require in a studio for production.

It's important to consider the correct amplifier when driving passive monitors; for this I also have a matched rating power amplifier from alesis. The speakers are capable of being driven to 120W at the program level, although they advertise as 200W peak, you should only regard their RMS values, as this is the output sustainable by the monitors over prolonged duration without incurring damage to the drivers.

My other pair I have hooked upto my main LCD TV as part of my entertainment centre.
